Interview 1

In this first interview we can meet a 21-year-old girl who uses her mobile phone for about 4 hours a day, although she uses it on weekends for approximately 6 hours.

Its main use is to watch TV shows and series, as well as WhatsApp.
She is aware that sometimes she uses the phone longer than she would like, but still, she does not apply any measures to reduce the consumption time.

Interview 2

In this interview, we talk to a 22 year old girl that says that she uses the mobile phone from 4 to 6 hours per day . In this case, when we ask her if she tinks that spending to much time with the phone is a problem she says yes, but then she says its when she gets bored that she uses the phone.

Interview 3

In this interview, we meet a 18 year old girl that uses the mobile mostly to talk to friends and family and using social networks. She spends 3-4 hours each day on her mobile and she thinks it’s too much.

Interview 4

In this interview, we talk to a 50 year old women. Listening to it we can see the differences between this one and the ones before, first of all in what do they do on the phone. This women says she spends most of the time on her email, that hadn’t been mentioned before. Although the uses are different, she also says she thinks she spends too much time with her mobile phone.

Interview 5

We speak with a 18 year old. He explains us, that he usually is around 5 hours in front of his phone every day, but doesn’t feel like its too much or it’s an addiction. Most of his time, is spent on social networks, mainly on Instagram. At dinner, he says he also uses his phone, but is not a problem at all.

Interview 6

In this case, we speak to a 15 year old, who uses his phone around 5 hours a day too. As with the 18 year old, he also spends a lot of time on social media, mainly Instagram. He also consumes a lot of multimedia platforms, like youtube. He explains us, that apart from his phone, he uses all other kind of tech like smartwatch, tablet and gaming PC.

Interview 7

In this interview we speak to a 21 year old male, who uses his phone about 2-3 hours a day, spends most of that time playing, but uses sometimes social media, mainly facebook

Me- Hello, can I have a conversation with you for a moment?

Interviewee- Yes, why not

Me- Can I record it in a video?

Interviewee- I would prefer not.

Me- Ok, so it can be recorded on audio?

Interviewee- No, I don’t like being recorded

Me- Ok, no problem, lets begging then, about how old are you?

Interviewee- I’m nearly 21 years old

Me- Alright, do you have a mobile phone?

Interviewee- Of course, who doesn’t?

Me- And what are the main uses you have for you phone?

Interviewee- Mainly to play games, look up stuff and receive calls

Me- Oh, very nice, you would use your phone a lot don’t you?

Interviewee- Yes, I think I use my phone a lot, about 2 or 3 hours a day.

Me- That is not that much, but oh well, if you think that is much, what is the main activity you do in that time

Interviewee- I scroll thru facebook, its the main app I use when I’m not playing

Me- Oh, so you will be very much in contact with friends and family, when you go out, where you usually put your phone?

Interviewee- I usually leave it in my pocket

Me- You then must not use that much data, given that you don’t seem to use that much the phone.

Interviewee- Well, I don’t even have a data plan, so yeah.

Me- That’s weird, almost everyone has a data plan, if I can ask, why is that you don’t have one?

Interviewee- Because my sister pays for it, and I don’t want to make her spend too much money-

Me- So considerate, you must be very close to her.

Interviewee- Well, not that much, we go to the cinema from time to time

Me- And when you go to the cinema with her, do you tend to use your phone while in the function?

Interviewee- No! That’s rude.

Me- Yes, it is, and finally, before I leave, about how much do you spend in tech every year.

Interviewee- Between 200 – 300 € a year.

Me- Thank you, it was a pleasure talking to you, bye

Interviewee- Bye.

Interview 8

we speak with a 22 year old male who uses his phone about 2 daily hours for mostly texting and social media. With his friends he usually uses more the phone than with this family. He thinks that he does not spend too much time in his phone because he just uses for “basic content” such as texting and music

Interview 9

we speak with a 22 year old female that spends almost hour and a half just in texting (in music she spends many more). She does not think she spends a lot of time on technology because it bores her, so with her friends and family almost never uses her phone. Yearly she spends less than 250$ in technology.

Interview 10

we speak with a teenager that thinks that spends too much time in his phone and social media. He usually spends about 3 daily hours in his phone in texting and playing. With his frinds or family, or while watching a film or TV show he also uses his phone. He does not pay for his phone and does not spend all his data because of his amount of it.
